Whilst deployed at the previous incident, the Team were alerted by North Yorkshire Police to an incident at Beezley Falls near Ingleton. A canyoner (F, 17) had slipped from rocks into a pool, injuring her shoulder. In considerable pain, she had been assisted by friends to the bank but was unable to self extricate from the rocky area, and was becoming very cold. Team members diverted from the other incident and attended the scene. The casualty was treated and given pain relief before being evacuated on a stretcher to the nearby car park. Yorkshire Ambulance Service attended and the casualty was taken to hospital for further treatment. We wish her a speedy recovery.
Note – this party were well equipped and experienced. Despite the bright weather at the moment, wild water is still extremely cold and not suitable for general swimming. Don’t be tempted!
