A climber (f,30) took a fall of about ten metres from one of the more serious routes on Malham Cove. Incident 49/2017 – July 16th Sun. 15.36 – Robin Proctor’s Scar, Austwick, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue.

A climber (m,57) fell approximately 10 metres, sustaining shoulder and head injuries, whilst climbing at Robin Proctor’s Scar, Austwick. Team members assisted a Yorkshire Ambulance Service paramedic in accessing the casualty, and packaged him for a lower by stretcher down the scree slope below the climb, to a waiting team vehicle. Incident 26/2017 – Apr. 29th Sat. 16.24 – Giggleswick Scar, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue.

The team were requested by Yorkshire Ambulance Service to attend a report of a person (f, 37) ‘fallen from a wall, 200m from Settle Golf Club’. Because of an ongoing incident, a reduced team responded from Horton in Ribblesdale to provide assistance to the ambulance service. Incident 59/2016 – Jul. 30th Sat. 11.21 – Malham Cove, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue.

A climber (m) fell approximately ten metres from the East Wing of the Cove, sustaining suspected back and neck injuries. After assessment by Yorkshire Ambulance Service paramedics, he was placed in a vacuum mattress (whole-body splint) and on to a Bell mountain rescue stretcher.
