A fell-runner reported seeing a lamb, about 10m down into Fern Pot, but couldn’t recover it safely, on his own. A small team was able to do this and, with no ewe taking an interest, returned the lamb to its owner. Volunteer hours: 8

The team were contacted by a farmer who had a lamb trapped in a small culvert, and was unable to extricate it. A small party of team members was dispatched to attempt the recovery. It’s Wednesday, so it must be…Sheep Rescue! The team were called by a caver who had discovered a sheep stuck in a 4 foot deep rift near Turbary Road, which he was unable to free by himself. The team were called to a sheep reportedly stuck on a ledge, above the quarry. A team of four members attended, and as they began to descend, the sheep (the same sheep from last week?) performed the same self rescue action, and returned to the field. Until next time… Volunteer hours: 4
