The Team were asked by North Yorkshire Police (NYP) to assist with the search for a man (M, 53) who had been reported as missing since the previous evening from a holiday park near Tosside. As the site was close to our respective area boundaries, colleagues from neighbouring Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team (BPMRT) very kindly offered to assist us. All met at the site and began a methodical search of the area, including nearby streams and farmland, under the direction of the police. Sadly, a short while later police officers discovered the body of a man thought to be the missing person. Subsequent enquiries proved this to be the case. We assisted with the protracted investigation, recovery and evacuation. We are grateful to BPMRT colleagues for their assistance.
Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased.
