While incident number 80 was still in progress, North Yorkshire Police forwarded a report that two Three Peaks walkers had not returned to Horton in Ribblesdale, having last been heard from on the summit of Whernside at about 13.00. Neither walkers’ mobile phone were answered, nor was there any response to Phonefind messages. Soon, however, a phone call was received from the original reporting person, saying that the two missing walkers had now arrived safely in Horton.
