A family visiting the waterfalls walk reported themselves lost in woodland. The CRO Duty Controller was able to contact the family on their mobile phone and established that they had found their way to Ingleton and were being directed to the waterfalls car park by a passerby. Incident 46/2018 – Jul. 19th Thur 18.00 Malham Cove, Malham, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

The team were called out by North Yorkshire Police to assist with the recovery of a person with fatal injuries from the foot of the cove. Incident 39/2018 – Jun. 12th Tue 14.05 Pen-y-Ghent, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

Incident 38/2018 – Jun. 9th Sat 18.38 Thornton Force, Ingleton, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

Whilst attending to incident 37, CRO was called to an incident at Thornton Force, near Ingleton. A boy, aged 11, had slipped whilst entering the pool at the foot of Thornton Force and hit his head on a submerged rock.
