Whilst Incident 66 was still in progress, another call was received from North Yorkshire Police, reporting a walker doing the three peaks overdue. The reporting person was concerned that the lone walker (f,33) was an hour and a half overdue at Horton in Ribblesdale. Whilst initial enquiries were being made, the walker turned up at Horton in Ribblesdale safe and well. Volunteer hours: 1
A call was received from Yorkshire Ambulance Service to a walker (m, 35) involved in a fall on Whernside, about 1.5 miles from the Hill Inn. A walker (m79) slipped and fell over whilst descending the summit ridge of Whernside. He sustained minor cuts to his head, a rib injury and grazing to his knee. He was cared for by CRO members and carried by stretcher down to Bruntscar for tranfer in a CRO Landrover to a Yorkshire Ambulance Service team at the road head. Volunteer hours 39
A walker (m, 59) slipped from a stile whilst crossing a field boundary, injuring an ankle. He was taken in a CRO vehicle to the nearest public road for transfer to a road ambulance. Volunteer hours 24.
