The team were called by Cumbria Police to a report of a gyrocopter crashed on the summit of Great Knoutberry Hill, above Dentdale. Two vehicles and personnel, just finishing providing cover for the Three Peaks Fell Race, were dispatched from Horton in Ribblesdale.
Team members arrived at the crash site just as the Great North Air Ambulance took off with two casualties, suffering minor injuries on board, for transport to Lancaster Royal Infirmary. The duty controller conferred with Cumbria Police officers who arrived on scene, and then left the crash scene with them, as the team had received an additional call near Giggleswick. Assisted by Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team.
