YAS called for CRO’s assistance when a walker (m, 65) was reported to have fallen 3m (10ft) from the waterfall at Gordale Scar, but was conscious and breathing. YAS paramedics from the Yorkshire Air Ambulance were first on scene and, having bandaged his head wound, discussed walking the patient carefully to a road ambulance near Gordale House. As readers of the CRO annual incident report, Rescue ’22, may recall, some of our members have been working with colleagues from the Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association and volunteers from Mosaic (the organisation which aims to connect people from diverse communities with the outdoors) to produce a series of simple, short (max 2 minutes each) safety videos to be posted on YouTube. We don’t usually post photographs which would identify people, but this is from a camera found when members did the Extreme Litter Pick at the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, a few weeks ago.
