INCIDENT 11/2021 – Apr. 15th Thu. 14.47 – Whernside, Ingleton, North Yorkshire. – Mountain Incident

A paraglider pilot (m, 54) launched from the summit ridge of Whernside, but immediately landed heavily, 200m down-slope, injuring his right ankle. As the first CRO members scaled the hill, the North West Air Ambulance landed on the ridge. Paramedics scrambled down and packaged the patient before team members, assisted by passers-by, carried patient and team stretcher up to the aircraft. INCIDENT 30/2019 – Apr. 30th. Tue. 13.21hrs – Simon Fell Breast, North Yorkshire – Mountain Incident

Called by North Yorkshire Police and the Yorkshire Ambulance Service to a parapentist who had lost control of his paraglider and hit the fell side. Incident 5/2018 – Feb. 5th Mon. 15.49 Ingleborough, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

On the summit of Ingleborough, a paraglider fell about 3 metres when his parachute stalled whilst he was taking off. He suffered a suspected fracture to an ankle. Remarkably, and with the generous help of passing walkers, the injured person had the tenacity to shuffle and slide a considerable way down from the summit.
