A German Pointer  called Frankie fell into the river, between the ‘Pecca Twin Falls’ on the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail and was stranded on an inaccessible ledge (just below the one on which Meatball was stranded on Boxing Day). INCIDENT 12/2022 – MARCH 4th Fri 12.23 Ing Scar, Watlowes Dry Valley, North Yorkshire – Animal Incident

A walker contacted North Yorkshire Police to report a cow that thad fallen from height and received multiple injuries, including apparently broken legs. At NYP’s request, CRO sent a duty controller to assess the incident. It was found that the cow had suffered unsurvivable injuries. Having ascertained ownership of the beast, it was humanely euthanised at the scene by a local farmer, and the incident was left in their hands.…

While taking his human for a Boxing Day walk on the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, Meatball, an Irish Wheaten Terrier, fell about 10m into the river just upstream of Pecca Bridge. Although uninjured, he could not regain the path, so scrabbled out onto a slippery, sloping ledge in a distressed state. INCIDENT 65/2021 – AUGUST 20th FRI. 10.06 – MEALBANK QUARRY, INGLETON, NORTH YORKSHIRE – ANIMAL INCIDENT

A farmer had seen one of his sheep, apparently stranded on a ledge of Mealbank Quarry, on Sunday. He kept trying to tempt her back to safety by shaking a bag of sheep nuts, but eventually asked for CRO’s assistance. A small team set up an abseil and one member descended. His arrival on her ledge was sufficient motivation for the sheep to overcome any acrophobia and she scrambled safely…
