Alert only – July 8th Sun. 23.11hrs – 3 Peaks Walk, North Yorkshire – Alert only

A caller was concerned when two walkers didn’t return at the scheduled time from attempting the 3 Yorkshire Peaks walk. The last contact with the walkers said they were ‘lost’ and at least 2 hours from their car. Initial attempts to locate the walkers using the ‘Phonefind’ facility did not work, so a team member set off for Horton in Ribblesdale (the usual starting point for the 3 Peaks walk)…

Incident 56/2016 – Jul. 23rd Sat. 20.26 – Sulber Nick, Ingleborough, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue.

A walker (f,40) was reported by a fellow walker to be unable to walk further, having nearly completed the 3 Peaks Challenge. A CRO vehicle with 2 team members went to the location given at Sulber Nick crossroads, and found the walker to be tired and with extremely painful knees. Incident 11/2016 – Mar. 12th Sat. 12:15 – Crina track, Ingleborough – Mountain Rescue

The team were called by North Yorkshire Police to a report of a walker (f,20) collapsed and becoming hypothermic, approaching Ingleborough summit. On reaching the casualty, two of the team’s casualty carers administered first aid and began warming the casualty, whilst other team members prepared for a stretcher carry.
