Alert only – Sep. 13th Fri. 18.49hrs – Jean Pot, Gaping Gill, North Yorkshire – Alert only

Three cavers were reported overdue from a trip down Jean Pot, Gaping Gill. When CRO’s Duty Controller contacted the informant to get more information, he was told that one of the cavers had just returned to Clapham village and had reported that he and his companions were all out of the cave and safe. No action was required by CRO.

The team were called by North Yorkshire Police after a 13yo Springer Spaniel fell down a pothole near Great Douk cave. The owners could see the dog but were unable to retrieve it themselves. INCIDENT 75/2019 – Aug 23rd. Fri. 11.05hrs – Ingleborough summit, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

A DofE group, accompanied by supervisors, came across what appeared to be a deceased lone walker at the summit shelter on Ingleborough. Whilst a supervisor called for help and escorted the distressed youngsters down the hill, others erected a tent to protect the casualty pending the arrival of the team. INCIDENT 66/2019 – Aug 6th. Tue 00.28hrs – Giggleswick Scar, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

A walker (f18) was struggling to find her way down steep craggy ground off Giggleswick Scar. Whilst trying to descend she tripped, twisting her ankle and banging her chest on a rock.
